Repentance literally means recognizing our sin, and then turning and walking in the opposite direction. That is what you and your boyfriend have done. God's forgiveness is full and complete, and He gave His only Son to give you a hope and a future. The comment that your prof made that when Christians sin they go to hell is NOT a Biblical truth. The truth is that when we confess our sins and turn from evil, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So yes, there is certainly hope for this relationship, and yes, you can experience a beautiful, God-written love story from this point forward. <br /> <br />I would encourage you and your boyfriend to pray for some godly teammates that you can confide in - people who can help keep you accountable to your new life of purity. You may even want to consider working with a professional Biblical counselor. Having godly guidance and perspective can be extremely beneficial in transitioning into a healthy, Christ-honoring relationship. It may also be healthy for you and your boyfriend to take a season apart - not necessarily a break-up, but just a time of prayer and seeking God's heart for your future and your relationship. A time apart can help provide a better opportunity to hear God's whisper of guidance without the intensity of constant emotions taking control. <br /> <br />As you build this relationship around Christ, healing and restoration from your past mistakes will come.
